The cross was made like rare Orthodox canons, which were supported by Christian Church untill it’s separate. Old Testament, Byzantine, Greek and Slavonic styles were in project development, and it’s shows the indivisibility of the Christian Church, also, emphasizes the Evangelic truth about the indivisibility of Christ.
The cross was made from basswood, because, on the one hand - linden is a soft tree, what is very good for woodfinish made by my own technology, on another - it’s a light tree, what is my customer prefer.
On the cross I was making numerous rapid cuts and special made chipped cuts (you can see it on the photo), they were necessary for such kind of work, because in the end of the work it’s shows very good the «antiquarian style» of this surface.
You can see it better after I put finish made by my own technology.
The work was made with special custom made carving tools made by the company «Khechoyan’s Carving’s & Tools».
